Through my position in Flyer News I have been able to combine my love of writing with my other passions. I have always been interested in art, and can stay updated about what the art community is doing while improving my writing abilities.
UD's community is part of the reason I chose the school, so it was important to me to be an active member. Meeting new people and writing about their experiences is the best part about writing for Flyer News. Experimenting with different writing styles and challenging myself to capture an individual's personality in articles have impacted who I am as a writer.
In my Introduction to Professional Technical Writing course, I was tasked with researching ethical considerations in writing. The assignment improved my writing's conciseness and informed me of the positive and negative effects of a social media presence on a career.
A community outreach project required my team and I to revise documents for a nonprofit organization. One of the documents that I was responsible for includes detail-oriented writing and design elements that appeal to people's emotions.
